Showroom Vinfast – Paris 8 – France
Project : Development and restructuring of a commercial premises over 5 levels
Surface : Phase 1 – 285 m2, phases 2+3 – 1 100 m2
Role : Local architect
Status: Completed
We worked as local architects on projects for showrooms and service centers in four French cities for the electric car manufacturer Vinfast.
In Paris, the project is in a building initially built as part of the Haussmannian urban restructuring program during the 19th century, requiring close collaboration with municipal heritage architects.
We discovered interior walls dating from the 17th century, as well as vaulted cellars built possibly even earlier. These historical layers made for exciting challenges in terms of engineering, while the proximity to the church of the Madeleine, a listed monument, meant respecting precise limits on the parameters of any changes to the exterior.

We also proposed an adaptation of existing buildings, a surface area of 10 000 m2, to include facilities for wine tourism, trade, restaurants and a new administrative block, as well as a complete review of the landscaping of the whole site.
Mixed Use Development – Angers (49) – France
Location: Angers, France
Project: Mixed use development in the city centre
Surface: 30 000 m2
Role: Architect
Status: Project
Our proposal for this important mixed-use development project in the historic centre of Angers in France’s Loire valley combines range of new functions — retail, housing, hotel, shopping center — into the existing urban fabric.
Working with the city’s preservation department we were able to maintain the striking architectural qualities of this site which comprises a 1930’s post office and several historic bank buildings, as well as a cinema built in the 1920’s. We linked the renovation projects together by covering rue Franklin Roosevelt (120m x 15m) with a state-of-the-art engineered arcade inspired by 19th and 20th century European shopping arcades.
Pedestrian bridges connect the various of levels and functions of this unusual inner-city mixed-use urban preservation and development project.

Shop for Habitat – Madrid – Spain
Location: Madrid, Spain
Project: New store for Habitat
Surface: 1 750 m2
Role: Architect
Status: Completed
This store, conceived on two levels, is located in a shopping center. The entry is composed of three black curved walls which span a comfortable hall; niches in these walls provide various spaces. The setting for the collections is underlined by a wooden floor contrasting with a more contemporary note brought by the grey tiling used for the windows. The treatment of colors reinforces the connections between the upper and lower levels: white dominates on both floors; dark colors are used to indicate vertical circulation and red to underline the passage from one universe to another.
